It goes without saying that the Bruins should win this game tonight. It’s embarrassing if they don’t. But, that being said, this type of game can be tricky for the top teams. The Senators are currently dead last in the league, while the Bruins are in third (and they’ve played at least two fewer games than the teams ahead of them). So, obviously, they’re a far superior team. But, it also means that they could come into this game underestimating Ottawa or just not playing their best hockey. That’s a recipe for disaster. Yes, Ottawa is a horrible team. But, with the parity of the league, even the bad teams are actually ok and they can surprise you and are capable of upsetting teams who are too loose. Hopefully, the Bruins don’t fall into this trap and they come out strong and don’t let up. They got too loose in the third period against the Rangers last weekend, as they had dominated them through the first two periods but then let them back in the game. But, then they didn’t let up against the Sharks at any point after completely dominating them on Tuesday. So, hopefully, they’ve learned that they can’t take any team lightly, no matter how much of a lead they have or how bad the other team is. If they have, they’ll easily walk out of the building with two points tonight, and it’ll likely be a really lopsided score. I’ll be live-tweeting the game over at PUCKerUp Boston tonight, so come hang out with me, and then hopefully I’ll have a postgame up here as well, so keep an eye out for that later!
