The Winnipeg Jets Resign Patrik Laine

The Winnipeg Jets announced today that they have resigned forward Patrik Laine to a two-year contract worth $13.5 million ($6.75 million AAV). Laine appeared in all 82 games for the Jets last season, in which he produced 30 goals and 20 assists. He then played in all six of the team’s playoff games, through which he tallied three goals and one assist. Drafted second overall of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by Winnipeg, Laine has appeared in 237 career NHL games, over which he has recorded 110 goals and 74 assists. The 21-year-old wing has only played for the Jets organization over his three season NHL and professional career.

Full Contract Breakdown:

  • 2019-20: $6 million base salary, no signing bonus.
  • 2020-21: $7.5 million base salary, no signing bonus.
