On paper, the Bruins are going to get absolutely destroyed tonight. Their only three lineup regulars from last season are defensemen (McAvoy, Carlo, and Grzelcyk), and their most experienced forward is Brett Ritchie. That’s not a recipe for success when you are going up most of the Blackhawks regular lineup. Things get particularly bad for the team in net, as they will have an AHL goalie going up against one of the (if the not) most dangerous forwards for a goalie in the NHL in Patrick Kane, as well as other top offensive players in Toews and DeBrincat. In short, yikes. However, hockey is a weird sport, and the Bruins’ young guns may be able to hold their own against what is basically the Blackhawks’ NHL roster, but I’m not necessarily going to hold my breath. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens tonight!
